OVERVIEW
Teradata Vantage for Data Science
When it comes to analytics, we know there's a lot to learn and explore. That's why we added a second day of hands-on training—Teradata Vantage for Data Science—to take a deeper dive into ways to optimize analytics.
Instructors will demonstrate how to:
- Perform analytic queries using artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Use Teradata Vantage functions with popular languages such as Python, R, and SQL
- Build predictive models of customer behavior using Naïve Bayes, decision trees, and more
- Experience a day in the life of a data scientist
This full-day event will include hands-on exercises and tutorials to let you experience real-world implementations of advanced analytics using both enterprise and open-source technologies. You'll experience the latest in data and business analytic solutions, including Vantage.
The day will start at 8:00 am and wrap up at 5:00 pm with breakfast, lunch and breaks included.
Training will consist of five models:
- Module 1: Course Introduction and Setup
- Module 2: Mapping Out the 5 Step Process of Writing a Machine Learning Query
- Module 3: Preparing the Data
- Module 4: Teradata Vantage Overview
- Module 5: Vantage Analytics Use Cases (NewSQL, Python and R)

To make the Data Science Experience and the Teradata Vantage for Data Science a success, please arrive by 8:00 am to check in and get your computer connected.
Data Science Experience
Your laptop will need to be able to connect to the venue’s WiFi and use a browser to connect to our cloud-based environment. Nothing else is needed.
Teradata Vantage for Data Science
You’ll need a laptop that has a current version of a major web browser, such as Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc., that gives you the ability to connect to the internet. You’ll connect to a cloud environment and run all labs from within its GUI-based desktop environment.
We will make every effort to assist you with connection, but every laptop has a different configuration.
